I've had this notion to do a series of kitty girls as different types of dancers. (See 'Cat Dancer: Flamenco' in my gallery.) I finally found a good picture of a flamenco dancer so I sketched it up and after inked while I was doing platelets yesterday. I think I might be on to something here.

With three active Scouts in the house, my contribution to it is in the design of Scout patches. This past weekend, they had Cub Fun Day where various Boy Scout troops put on different activities for area Cub Scouts. It's basically a recruitment drive but it also helps keep boys interested in Scouting. This year, they had their first ever chili cookoff so they wanted that reflected in the patch. At the left is the original design and next to it are the actual patches. The yellow edging is for participants and the red edging is for staff -- I got both because I wound up in the craft booth, teaching kids how to paint wolf neckerchief slides... about 500 of them. I'm still whupped!!

Somehow or another, I got known as the 'artist mom' in the band parents group. This year, the band is doing a 'Machu Picchu' program so I was asked to come up with something in that theme. yeah... I'm the mama with the llama.

This was done for ConDFW 2007. I woodburned this on a piece of mesquite from my hubs' scrap wood pile. I added color with wood stain pens and some Chinese coins as a counterweight.

Another picture done as a demo when I teach my art merit badge. Many adult scout leaders have their own groups and quite a few of them belong to the 'owl' patrol. Like the marmalade cat she resembles, Dorcas is the queen of all she surveys. She and Lucy have long been rivals for alpha female of their rookery but she saves her best arguments for Dodger who is her opposite in every way. ....and you know what they say about opposites.

Another one of the London clan, Dodger doesn't live with the clan proper, but prefers to dwell above the streets of the city. He has his own little protectorate and the humans who know him pay him back with a pint or two for a job well done. Loosely based on Hercules, a Scottish terrier/dachund mix dog that I had when I was younger -- a little dog that didn't know it.

This was done for the MGC: Pirate contest -- and strangely enough, I won with this pic of Lady Lady, buccaneer of the British Isles and queen of the seven seas. (For those of you not into Gargoyles, the London clan all resemble heraldic animals for some reason, which is why Lucy looks like a lion.) Arrrgh!
